Freehold is good- I've seen NONE of the movies, so I can't comment on them :-)

Haven't read the book.

If you haven't seen them find/look for Lone Wolf & Cub the TV show. Basically the moves are just a condensed version of the show. Also look for the graphic novels.

Battle for Las Angeles was good, just the whiney Marine, blaming the sarge for his brothers death just annoyed me. Still went and saw it twice in theater.

P.S. The lead actor is the same in both the tv show and the movies for Lone Wolf and Cub. Just some more FYI.

NFO-I really enjoyed Freehold. I've read one other book by Williamson, and I'm sure I'll be reading more. The Lone Wolf and Cub movies are 70s samurai movies with lots of limbs being cut off and gouts of blood. Battle: Los Angeles was great; think Black Hawk Down meets alien invasion. Sucker Punch had a lot going for it but fell flat on the story for me.

Josh-I started with the 'Shogun Assassin,' then realized it was a cut down version of these movies. I guess I'll have to move on to the tv show after I finish them.
