Good Citizenship.

Today while I was working in a customer's home I saw that one of his children had an award for 'Good Citizenship' laid out on his bed. I remembered those same awards being given out when I was in school, and I started thinking about why exactly you got them.

You got them for good behavior. You got them for respecting authority. You got them for doing what you were told without question. That's what the public school system, the government funded and run school system, thinks makes a good citizen. That bothers me a great deal.
