Here is the first Robert's Picks for 2009

Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand by Leonard Peikoff (excellent)

The Coming of Conan The Cimmerian by Robert E. Howard (good)

On DVD I watched:

Righteous Kill (excellent)

I'm listening to:

Absolution by Muse (very good)

I haven't read Tom Sawyer, but I've read Huckleberry Finn, and I can't say I enjoyed it. Well, I *could* say that, I guess, but it wouldn't be honest. ;)

My dad's a HUGE Louis L'amour fan. I think he's got all his books. I've never tried any westerns, and TBH, I'm kind of afraid to. Heh.

I really enjoyed Huckleberry Finn when I read it in high school. I'm thinking I'll read it again after I finish Tom Sawyer. I want to read some of Mark Twain's other work too. To each their own I guess.

L'Amour is pretty much typical westerns, just like the movies. Some are better than others, but they're mostly pretty good. And addictive.
