Smart man... especially if you're working with/around GOOD stuff... :-)
Heh
Good lord. I just noticed the other day that I did the same thing. That and muzzle... chuck control.
Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to screw.
That is hilarious... I catch myself in the same position quite frequently. Muscle memory is a beatiful thing.
One time I was at the range with Robb Allen, and noticed he even held the staple gun with his index finger pointing straight out.
You know you're a gun nut when you look at the picture and think "Yes, and...? Wait, you mean there's another way to hold one?"
We have one of those rifle-shaped butane grill lighters. I caught Sweet Daughter walking around with it once, finger indexed and carefully pointed at the ground. I was so proud. *grin*
I do that with spray bottles.
What Tam said. Windex bottle, electric drills, etc. I do it, and Nancy does it too, sometimes -- I'm sure that has more to do with our Sweet Daughter's near-reflexive handling of the grill lighter than the drilling on the Four Rules SD has had since before she was four.
