100 years old and still kicking ass.

On this day 100 years ago the US Army adopted the John M. Browning designed Colt .45 ACP pistol as the M1911.  The pistol remains in service with some organizations within the US military to this day.  It is in use by law enforcement organizations at all levels.  It can be found in the holsters civilians all across the nation.

The 1911 is the pistol I carry every day.  There are other pistols out there, and I'm sure I could be happy with them, but they're not a 1911.
