Texas nearing allowing CCW at universities.

Texas seems to heading toward allowing CCW on it's university campuses.  I think this is great.  Texas is the second largest state in the union, and has 38 public universities and a huge student population.  It's the perfect place to show the 'blood in the streets' argument is made of nothing but the cries of the irrational, like this one from the linked article:

"There is no scenario where allowing concealed weapons on college campuses will do anything other than create a more dangerous environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors," Oklahoma Chancellor of Higher Education Glen Johnson said in January.

Funny that the evidence does not seem to support this statement. I can only conclude that Glen Johnson is either a liar or an idiot. I can't decide which would be more disturbing considering his job title.

The last paragraph of the article is simple and to the point, and sums up the situation perfectly:

Wentworth said he heard the "blood on the streets" warnings when Texas first passed the concealed handgun law. "They said we'd have shootouts at every intersection," he said. "None of that has happened."
