1911 for 2011: Decisions, decisions.

I've previously blogged about the firearms I'd like to pick up for 2011, specifically another 1911.  In that post I mentioned the STI Spartan and Ranger II as possibilities.  Well, I've found another possibility.  Affordable and purdy too:

Springfield Armory "Range Officer"

It's being marketed as an affordable 1911 set up for competition.  I like the looks of it, and the price isn't bad either.

Now, that's a real 1911, not like that instant museum piece I had a picture of.

Yeah, I'm liking the look of it myself. And the price is just about right for my budget.

About that museum piece, I'd like to think if I had the money to buy I would take it out the day I got it and put a thousand rounds through if for no other reason than to make a few people cry. I doubt it would really be a hit to the value, after all there IS only one and that's not going to change.
