I think the reason it was "stifled," as you say, is because even though you can continue your friendship when it's just the two of you, it's *not* the same friendship as it's always been, and when the others are there, most especially Jeremy, that's a reminder . . . no, more than a reminder, that's the physical evidence that your relationship with her is not the same.  That one of you has been terribly wounded.

I know this was a lighthearted entry, and here I am dragging it down.  Geeze.

In any event, you have no idea how happy it makes me that you and Stephanie can still be friends.  IME, friendships don't work after one friend or the other has been seriously burned, regardless of where the blame lies.  It's nice to see that not all guys are the same as what I've experienced.

I hope you make it through okay.

I don't think you are dragging it down.  What you've said is true.  And it's really hard to push on considering everything.  And I'll say what I've told people time and time again, I am not like most guys.  I don't know why, but I never have been.
